So for this last term we are learning about Earth & Beyond, the main topic we are learning about is the Sun. Today me and my buddy Quitah learnt heaps about the Sun. We researched a lot about the Sun, so while we did we did an K.W.L Chart. We did what we know, What we want to know and what we learnt. Here are some facts we did.

Nuiean Language Week 2015

New Zealand Shake Out Day!

So on Tuesday me and my whole also other schools in New Zealand we did a Shake Out day to honour those who had passed away in the 2010 Christchurch massive Earth quake. Kiwi Sports - SNAG Golf

Today during our 3 minute of celebrating New Zealand shake out day, we had Kiwi sports! During Kiwi Sports we learnt how to play Snag Golf. While we were playing Snag Golf we learnt how to angle aim at the target. If you want to check out our Kiwi sports click the red writing (SNAG Golf Video) 

2016 Is Nearly Here

2016 Is Nearly Here

Wow! First day of school and its the last term for us Year 8's at Tamaki Primary before we head off to College. Time fly's by so fast, well all I have to do is to make the most of it before I leave. 2 weeks of Holidays has been amazing catching up with my Family. I thought it would be boring at first but it was Amazing. Know that were back to School and its the last term I feel a little bit upset but at least we got more things coming ahead of us. So on week 3 we got a lot of assessments to do so for this term we are gonna be really busy with a lot of Tests (maths, reading and writing) well so let's just get the over and done with. Next month I'm really looking forward to the week of fun called EOTC (Education outside the classroom) where we pay only $50 and theirs 1 week we do really fun things. I am looking forward to the end of this year and create more fun memories with my peers in class.

Earning It !

Whanaugatanga Badge 

So today we had an Duffy assembly! During our Duffy assembly my principal was talking about what Whanaugatanga means and what our school did yesterday for Tuakana Teina. There was 1 person that was outstanding yesterday during Tuakana Teina and they were showing a lot of Whanaugatanga. I didn't know who it was but I was thinking it might have been someone that wasn't in our year 8 class. "This badge is awarded to Lavinia. F" when I heard my name I stood up in shock. I have never gotten a badge before but during that moment I was really proud of myself. I walked up to get my badge and I had a big smile on  my face. After I got my badge I got a voucher, it was a $20 gift card and a ticket for mini golf around the world. I was really lucky because all my friend wanted it. hahaha! But it was still worth it. After school I showed my mum and she was really really proud of me, she smiled at me and hugged me and I gave her my voucher and today, I think was the best day! Thankyou to Ms. Barlow for being a good teacher for Tuakana Teina yesterday also to the BEST year 8 teacher Ms. Aireen !

Tuakana Teina Day - Lavinia & Htoo Say Wah

Sorry guys but here is another delayed post from yesterday. So yesterday our whole school had Tuakana Teina Day! Our buddies for Tuakana Teina was Room 1, my buddy was Htoo Say Wah! It was a really good day yesterday because we did fun activities with our buddies but the best thing me and my buddy enjoyed about yesterday was that in the first block before the bell went we got to make healthy sandwiches it was really YUM! And our other favorite part of the day was when when at the last block the little kids got to do bike riding around our bike track and the year 8's got to play touch on the field. I enjoyed every single hour, minute and second of yesterday! 

Netball Investigation - Inquiry

Hey Readers,

On the last few weeks we had got given a task relating to our topic Peaceful Play. We had to pick a game/sport and investigate it with your buddies or in groups. We got into 3 groups plus me (4) and we investigated Netball. We wanted to Investigate Netball because we wanted to know more information about it and what was it like in the olden days. Today we presented our Inquiry Investigation (Netball Investigation) and we Achieved it to the standards expected ! We were the only group that Achieved it to the standards because a lot of other groups were talking a lot about the game but we had to talk about the difference now and back then. I was proud of myself and my group when we heard that we achieved it!

Tuakana Teina - In and Out!

Sorry guys! This is a delayed post from last week but I just wanted to share what we did with our Tuakana Teina buddies with Room 1 and Room 2. Last week on Wednesday me and my class practiced peaceful play with the little ones. We had to make up a game and show our little ones how to play it our game is called "In and Out". Making a Difference - K.I.P Camp

 

 

Dear Diary today I have made a Difference by having a positive attitude towards my staff members (Yogeeta). By making a positive attitude towards my staff I showed a lot of Respect to her and motivating also encouraging her to try out new things.

 

During fitness today I helped by looking out for the little ones while we were playing just in case they might get hurt or have an accident while we were playing Speed Ball because it was the little ones mixed up with the older ones.

 

Today I was helpful when I helped out one of the fitness coaches (Raechal) by getting the little ones in line for our game of Speed Ball and also taking the Fitness equipment out so we can have our game and we could be ready to play.

So today is finally the State Of Origin game 2 that I was waiting for in like 2 weeks if you didn't know that. I am very excited because I can't wait to see my team (New South Wales) win! I am in the Blue team I will always and forever Bleed blue for New South Wales. If you don't know New south Wales is got 12 points and Queensland got 10 so it looks like where not that far from winning.
